Y’all drove away George Lucas and made him give up Star Wars to Disney

Y’all bullied a 9 year old Jake Lloyd til he had no career and a host of mental health issues

Y’all ruined Hayden Christensen’s career and all but forced him into a private life that when he arrived at Star Wars Celebration for the first time in a decade, you could tell he was clearly still fucking nervous

Y’all ran Daisy Ridley off her Instagram with sexist comments

Y’all harass John Boyega and call him the N word

Y’all fill Rian Johnson’s twitter timeline with vicious personal insults, even saying you hope he kills his baby nephew rather than show him the Last Jedi to watch

Y’all made Pablo Hidalgo, a member of the Lucasfilm Story Group who keeps track of all canon materials and who’s always been so open and interactive in answering all fan questions, delete his Twitter and start fresh because you won’t stop dragging him into racist trash fights he doesn’t want to see

Y’all now make Kelly Marie Tran delete her Instagram after months of harassment and having her character’s wookieepedia page be filled with Nazi speech and specifically racist language targeting her Asian ethnicity

When will the Star Wars fandom not be trash?

When will y’all start to grow up and realize that just because you like something, it doesn’t mean you get to be an asshole to the content creators?

When will y’all start to comprehend that this is a fucking fictional story and just because you didn’t like it, the sky is not falling???

YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY RIGHT TO HARASS ANY OF THESE PEOPLE AND BULLY THEM JUST BECAUSE THEY DIDNT MAKE SOMETHING YOU LIKE

Harassment is NOT criticism

Harassment is a FUCKING CRIME

Y’all would think that a fandom that loves a story about hope and love and peace and doing the right thing would fucking know not to behave like this

Hey, weird question. How come the Jedi don’t fight in coherent formations when there’s a large number of them? I don’t mean the battle formations of the regimental armies, I meant sword formations in which they could close ranks and work together so no one would have their back exposed. Instead we see them each dueling on their own, hacking and slashing. A formation would have been a lot more effective on Geonosis and the Jedi Temple. Just saying.

Hey! This
question is not weird at all, it’s actually a pretty important one. The fact
the Jedi were initially unequipped do face the droid army was one of the reason
why Palpatine wanted them to fight.

The Jedi
were not a military force. They were not soldiers nor they were trained to be.
They probably educated on military strategies but it would’ve been a purely theoretical
subject. Jedi were trained to be diplomats.  And even before the peace times they never had
to operate like an army the way they did during the Clone Wars.

They went
to Geonosis as a “rescue” mission, they were not expecting nor were prepared to
face a droid army. They were outnumber, surrounded and were simply overwhelmed
by the situation. By the time Yoda arrived with the clone army most of them
were dead and the remaining had never led a military unit before which, of
course, led to massive clone casualties.

“You had to be able to cross that threshold and
be ready to do absolutely anything to win. Fierfek, if stupid Jedi hadn’t used you as infantry on Geonosis, every single
one of my commando batch would be alive today.”
Triple Zero by Karen
Traviss.

By the time
Geonosis was over and the war was fully on the jedi were too spread out across
the galaxy to work as a unity. There weren’t even enough Jedi to command all
clone unities, let alone enough for the Order to create one made only of Jedi.

Jedi were
precious, they were given command positions despite having zero military
background whilst the clones who were bred for war became canon fodder. This was
not an accident. The Jedi were not qualified to be generals but, as Yoda said,
in their arrogance they jumped into a conflict they did not fully understand
(or bothered trying). Plus, Palatine needed the Jedi in charge and overwhelmed
for his plan to work and they played right into his hands.

Sorry, just my two favorite fandoms of Star Wars and Wuxia merging together every now and then. Somewhere deep in my mind, I see Star Wars as a Wuxia story with laser swords and complicated politics. It’s not something people usually think about. But since you chose to bite by answering this question. Let me explain a bit further.

The Sword Formation is a Taoist thing, and it isn’t for use in the battlefield, it’s more like a cooperative kata that can be used together by 2 or more people. To train together in formation builds trust and teaches the duelists to not just be individual swodsmen, but to work together as a cohesive enteity in the face of stronger adversaries. The monks of Shaolin have something similar with their staffs.

It’s actually a really good tactic, and you know, it kind of suits the harmonic vibe of the Jedi Order. But I suppose the Jedi may not be thinking about facing stronger adversaries since they believe the Sith to be extinct. Here are some examples:

See how the swordsmen would close ranks and each face a different direction so all sides are covered? Or how they would try to come at the enemy from different angles, so he can’t defend everywhere at once?

Whereas on Geonosis we see this (absolute chaos):

What do you think about the way the Jedi treated Boba? Like instead of acknowledging his grief and try to help him, they send him, who still was a kid, to a prison with many dangerous criminals. What they should have done? And what would have been the clones’ reaction to see him in jail?

Terribly. I
can’t picture any scenario where putting a little boy with the worst men in
the galaxy is a good idea. I still can’t decide if Boba being put on that prison is
the result of the writers not thinking things through or if the GFFA really
was THAT fucked up.  Regardless of why,
Boba ended up on that prison so let’s talk about that.

As horrifying
as it was, this Jedi brand of justice was not unheard of. They were the ones
who allowed Jango to be sold into slavery in the first place, so this idea the
Jedi were all about justice and fairness is nothing but wishful thinking. It sounds
cruel, but it makes sense when we remember the Jedi preached that summary
execution was the best/only way to deal with Sith. For all their speeches on
compassion, when it came to beings who harmed the Order, they had very little
compassion to show (Boba, Jango, Anakin, Ahsoka, Barriss,… they felt the Jedi “compassion”).

Boba
probably grew up knowing the Jedi were the reason his dad was enslaved only to
witness a Jedi behead him. it was a vicious battle but Jango’s death was unnecessary.
I’m not judging Mace here, as I said, things got violent. But, if we put
ourselves in Boba’s shoes, what he saw was Mace cutting his dad’s arm (successfully
disarming him) and then cutting his head off (when Jango was no longer a
threat).

image

I get why he hates Mace, he dealt with it in the worst possible way but I get
why he was so angry. Boba goes on his mission to kill Mace, he fails and he is
told to “get over it”.  To make matters
worse, he’s sent to an adult prison where all the worst beings are kept
together. He is like 12 years old! I mean…wow.

As far as
how the clones felt about that, I don’t think they cared too much. I’m not sure
if most of them even knew all about Boba’s past and, even if they did, they were trained
to be loyal to the Republic and Boba was considered an enemy of the Republic. No
matter how much they respected “the template”, I don’t think that respect was
translated into a deep compassion for Boba (who was convicted for the death of
many clones and the destruction of a Jedi cruiser).

In the end,
Boba was a grieving kid who was abandoned on a battle field. I don’t remember reading
about any Jedi asking around to see if anyone knew where the son of guy they just
killed was. I know, they had bigger concerns at the time but, imo, the welfare of
a 10 years old should’ve been a big concern for the most compassionate beings
in the galaxy. It’s not even about compassion, the kid clearly knew something. Take care of him, idk, don’t be sorry detached, pretend you care for a bit and you may gain valuable knowledge
that might help end the war.

I’m guessing authors didn’t think too much how this “solution” presents Jedi & Republic in a bad light

because TCW has a lot such weird, awful moments.

I’m even more angry about putting Boba in prison for
the worst
adult(!)

criminals

because Legends source Boba Fett #6: Pursuit gave us much better meeting between Fett and Anakin Skywalker (Jedi). A book for young readers has a bit too childish dialoques (that makes adult character like Skywalker sounding
a little

weird) for my taste but the story goes around this:

Boba run away from Separatist strongold on Xagobah that was now under attack of Republic. In space, Asajj almost finished him, but Boba get saved by Skywalker. Fett knew that identifying himself as a mercenary bounty hunter wouldn’t go over too well with Jedi, so he only
evasively said his ship get damaged and need to land and repair it. Skywalker allowed that but he personally get checked what is going on with the ship

Soon after that, turns out that Anakin knew from the start that the kid is Boba Fett (and even helped him repair Slave I) but since Fett violated Republic airspace back there on Xagobah and all unauthorized personnel automatically become detainees of the Republic, Anakin wanted take him for questioning promising he will “put in a good word” for him and that he is “sure we can find a place for you to work within the Republic.“

Which means, Anakin knew about Boba and his connection to Separatist and he was willing todo his duty and bring the kid to Jedi in charge of Republic attack on Xagobah (whose padawan Boba saved in previous part of series, what Anakin was aware, so he was going bring him to someone’s that owned something Fett) but was ready to stand up for the kid and find him a place to work/stay in Republic. Either, I
misunderstood the text, or Anakin is even okay with Boba working on his own, just as long he is not harming Republic’s best interest (not
peculiarly

the Jedi).

Of course, Boba is against that so out of desperation he claimed to have information vital to the safety of the Republic (true) and Anakin took that into consideration – something that TCW!Jedi didn’t bother to think about at all. At that moment in books starts the weirdly, too childish phrased argument that is soon broken by space slug. Anakin
instinctively passes from arguing to defending himself and the boy

(get that? He was moment ago arguing with Boba and the moment there is danger, he is all about protecting) and there was short fight in which Anakin get injured and Boba –
intentional or accidental

– saved him and in the end Skywalker agreed that Fett is going to Coruscant, under conditions
determined by him

personally, so he could meet with Chancellor and pass the important information. That Boba did, from what I remember.

I mean, the story may be seen as silly and childish at times, but here we have Anakin (Jedi) who actually didn’t judge 12 years old kid on spot as guilty, even when he was aware of his connection to Jango Fett and Separatist. Who was willing to put a good word for him, and help find a place / work in Republic to orphaned young bounty hunter that is much better than sending a kid (without any trial as far as I remember) to prison full of adult criminals. Who took into account that Boba Fett may posses some vital information to end the war sooner but didn’t torture him with Force to get that. I love this scene for Anakin and Boba interaction, yes, but whatever Jedi would be put in the story would have my sympathy for acting like that. TCW on another hand, just make everything worse. Boba did bad thing, yes, but for Force’s sake, he is 12 years old kid without any adult person to trust or guide him, he has only his (suicidal) anger to hold on. Putting him with the worst scums is not gonna change that at all.

@padawanlost But didn’t Boba grow up with the first batch of clones in the Kamino facility? Or was he separated from them all the time? You’d think that they had at least run into each other or had meals with each other for some time.

Nope. Boba
grew up in Kamino but he was kept apart from the clones because Jango wanted an
“unaltered clone” and because, I’d assume, the Kaminoans wouldn’t
want anything tempering with their “products”. Boba knew he was a clone and the
clones knew about him but they had no warm feelings for each other. He was not
raised as “one of the clone troopers”. Boba didn’t share lessons or anything
similar with them. as far as everyone was concern Boba was Jango’s, son not
canon fodder and he was treated as such. And considering how little Jango cared
for the clones, I doubt he’d have allowed Boba to be treated as one of them or
for him to get too close to them.

If you’re one of those people who thinks executive dysfunction only happens for things we don’t like (school, cleaning,) then please consider the fact that I’ve been meaning to plug my phone in for 20 minutes and I’m now at 2% and still putting it off to write this post ¯_(ツ)_/¯

My anime/video game list consists of over 100 titles, easily, and yet I almost never get around to watching/playing any of them.

Executive dysfunction is not just for boring or unenjoyable things. It’s for everything. Even eating.

What is executive dysfunction? O.o

Put simply, it’s difficulty/inability with initiating tasks. The prefrontal cortex is responsible for executive functions, like decision-making and impulse control. People with ADHD and other neurological disorders that affect the prefrontal cortex often experience difficulty making decisions and performing tasks, as well as exercising self restraint. Part of why people with ADHD tend to procrastinate so badly is out of genuine inability to begin tasks, even if they’re very important.

It feels, for me at least, like I’m constantly waiting for something and I can’t start X task because I’m waiting. I never know what exactly I’m waiting for, but that doesn’t stop me from wasting hours and days not doing the things I need to do, even if I have a desire to do them.

Oh thank god, someone put it into words.

For me it’s also waiting for the “right” time to come to complete the task because for some reason my brain thinks doing the task at any other time is horribly, horribly wrong, weird, and out of order. The “right” time might come eventually, might not. It’s a lottery.

Yeah.  This.

Y’all make it sound so deep but tbh to me it feels like tapping on the ‘Do the dishes’ button but a screen pops up saying ‘you must be lvl 27 to do this activity’ and I’m like ‘well shit I’m only lvl 26 so I guess I’ll just dick around until my exp goes up

And then next time I tap ‘do the dishes’ it demands I’m lvl 28 and by that time it’s getting a bit moldy and I’m just staring furiously at this pile of dishes, slapping the ‘Do the Dishes’ button to no avail. The stars aren’t in position.

The stars are never in position.
