arctrooper-ross:

Ugh—people have such a black and white version of slick’s
choice/decision. Like yes he betrayed his brothers by working for ventress but, what other
choice did he have. what choice did he think he had for himself?  A good chunk of the fandom thinks that he joined ventress wanting to kill his brothers—that his
intention was for his brothers to die. No it wasn’t. he thought she would help
and she didn’t. she got away and he didn’t. the last thing slick wanted was to lose his brothers.

If you look at slick’s story and see him as an antagonist
then look at it again.

Slick is a slave and he’ll do anything to obtain freedom,
and if he thinks his choice will aid his brothers, then he’ll do it. In situations
of slavery and oppression this…isn’t uncommon at all. If you don’t bother to
look through slick’s perspective of actually accept that he was a slave to the
jedi, then your view on what he did will be limited.

And it’s amazing how people can dog on him for working with
ventress and getting his brothers killed, when the same people are silent abt how
Anakin and Obi-Wan mistread and get clones killed constantly like toys—and never
get held accountable for it. That is the life slick was trying to escape—a life
of slavery. And a lot of you are so dense to the point you think he is in the
wrong.

like slick was in a desperate situation and extremely vulnerable and you guys are hating on him for jumping on the freedom wagon he first chance he gets. yall really think he wanted to kill his brothers. tragic.
