My favorite thing about the clones is their irrepressible individuality.
They were created to be a faceless, mass-produced army, and instead of being no more than cogs in a machine, they looked at themselves and each other and said fuck that; they said we’re more than just numbers, more than just identical faces in a crowd, we’re people. They refused to be what the Kaminoans created them to be – they gave themselves names, changed their hair, got tattoos, even painted their armor to make themselves stand out, because they might have been designed to look the same, but they refused to allow their sameness to define them. They created their own identities, decided their personalities for themselves, refused to allow their humanity to be erased, even though it was almost never acknowledged by the ones whose opinions decided their fates.
They were fighting an unspoken war with their creators, and they won it.
