I think I might remember you answering this before, and this might seem like a silly question, but was the general public aware that Anakin was the ‘Chosen One’? Or was that exclusively a Jedi thing?

No, the
public didn’t know about Anakin’s Chosen One status or anything else about how
the Order operated. Remember, the Jedi were view as mysterious wizards. They didn’t
share their ways with anybody. They were private and secretive. They didn’t
tell anyone. Palpatine only knew about the Chosen One thing because Dooku told
him Qui-Gon had returned from Tatooine with a kid he believed was the chosen
one.  

The public
loved Anakin because of his heroism during the war. they had no idea the
prophecy even existed.

duty to the Republic. Both of us—but yours is now so much more important. You are the face of the Jedi, Anakin. Even
after these years of war, many people still love the Jedi, and it’s mostly

Stover
hints at people knowing something, but, tbh, Stover is known for exaggerating
Anakin’s popularity and how well-known he actually was.
