me about Padmé status as an elected Queen so here we go:

Padmé was elected by the
people of Naboo for her two terms as Queen. However, she was NOT
elected by the people for her terms as Senator. She was handpicked by the
Queen. Padmé, the Senator, was NOT
elected by popular vote.
