Spidey’s spider-sense works as a radar for trouble. This means he’s able to locate the danger. Its range has shown itself to be a few dozens meters wide (1). It detects any trouble, not just those directed at Peter : that’s how he locates crime while patrolling (2). Surprisingly, it has sometimes extended to detect trouble happening to his loved ones (8).

It also helps him in many aspects of his everyday life. When he’s web swinging, he instinctively aims his webs at places that won’t crumble under his weight (3). He hasn’t looked both way before crossing the streets since he was in high school (4). It warns him when he’s being watched (7), which is how he never got caught changing clothes in an alley. And it warns him when someone’s bluffing at poker (5), to the point that the Avengers stopped inviting him to their games (4). Which means that he’s extremely handicapped when he loses that sense (6), even though he eventually finds ways to compensate.
