i just really love the umbara arc bc like… all of the clones are so multifaceted in it, and almost all of them like… undergo character development arcs? like you see them grow as people just over the short period of time and it really calls to mind that clones are made to adapt quickly, but also just … how wartime and trauma would affect ANYONE

like – rex, goes from being loyal to krell, saying we are part of something larger it is not our call, to slowly doubting more and more and allowing fives and jesse’s rebellion, to actively leading the charge against krell. we see how this has changed his ideals when he speaks to dogma – i used to believe being a good soldier meant doing everything they told you. but we’re not programmed. we’re not droids. you have to learn to make your own decisions.- and we see what kind of person rex is and his ideals are when he tries to shoot krell and even after all this, his hands are shaking

and tup goes from an anxious rookie quick to jump to the idea of failure – we’re finished – to being the one to capture krell, scowling like that when they initiate the plan to chase after him, and pointing his gun at dogma without wavering – he becomes confident and almost calculating, i’d say? more able to keep the endgame in mind. i do believe he would’ve been willing to shoot dogma, had dogma kept trying to stop them.

dogma, too – what a legend, going from being an uncertain shiny with faith in the jedi to just starting to have that faith shaken and clinging on more tightly and more blindly to it in the hope that’ll stop it from crumbling, to going almost catatonic in the cell, to shooting his general.

its so good lads
