The actions of ARC trooper 5555 and CT-5597 were a clear act of treachery and disregard for my command. If punishment isn’t swift, their defiance may inspire others to follow suit. (…) I’m afraid they’ll need to be disposed of. Prepare a squad for execution.
I never noticed until I saw this moment in gif form. Aayla hears her men bringing their weapons up–and immediately scans the trees for the threat they must have seen.
She’s not looking at her troopers, she’s looking up and to the sides assuming they saw something she didn’t. Because what else could they possibly be aiming at?
No one asked for this, but I need to write something other than my actual stories otherwise I’m going to go nuts. So, I decided to add some thoughts/headcannons/theories whatever anyone wants to call it, about Pong Krell’s Battalion. Now, I don’t know if anyone has anything like this before – I haven’t seen, but have written about it in my story Aftermath so you can check that out if you want anymore insight.
Anyway, here are some ideas I have/had written – whatever.
-At the start of the war, Krell actually wasn’t that bad. He wasn’t really good or anything, but he didn’t treat the men like objects and threw them in the fire.
-He did become like that, after getting that vision of his. “The Jedi are going to lose this war and the Republic will be apart ripped from the inside” – he saw Order 66 and what happened. That nailed down his anger and hate for all clones and wanted to eliminate as many as he could
-It was after this that he refused to use their names, whereas before he did. The only ones whose names he did use (though he used their rank instead if he could) were Captain Reeve, Sergeant Loto and Lieutenant Buster (my ocs apparently but I’m okay with that?)
-Krell banned any real form of outgoing communication from the men, letting only him contact allies if needed
-New comers/rookies/shinies had no idea what was actually going on in the 112th battalion so they were crushed by what happened to them (many never even got the chance to really use their names)
-Over time, when Krell saw he broke the soldiers, he grew very confidant in his skills and abilities (as well as arrogant) because he believed this way he could handle any if not all of the clones (and avoid Order 66)
-The only ones who really had any real markings on their armor were the older clones. Younger ones never got the chance, because Krell sort-of banned the whole identification thing
-Krell didn’t want to even imagine them as real people, so that ban only made it easier for him to do as he pleased with them
-Clones have taken their own lives under him, either due to the threats, unable to take his treatment anymore or would rather they end it on their own than have Krell deal the finishing blow
-Krell was not beyond using his Force abilities to either show his power over them or hurt/punish the clones for any mistake or
disobedience
they did
-The men got their hands on some communicators, but by then, they were too scared to actually call for anyone or tell them what was going on. They doubted anyone could do anything anyway
-They lived on rumors about their brothers, the feats of the 501st, 212th and 104th all being some of their favorites
And that’s it for this round, I guess? I might add more, might not. I’ll see ‘bout that…
Adding more because I just woke up and I feeling angsty
-Krell has done a public execution of a clone who went against orders, both in rage and to set an example
-The older clones make sure too tell the younger ones to keep their heads down and not get into a fight with the General
-If a soldier tries to lie or cover up for someone, Krell will use the Force to sense the truth and kill both (the liar and the screw up)
-The first time they saw Captain Rex or Commander Cody was in a holo-recording leading their men. Since then, those two have become would-be heroes to them
-Because Krell cut their rations supplies in half, the older brothers would either not eat or give their share to the younger ones
-Most of them kept a small storage of food for when they’d really need it
-The reason why Krell hasn’t killed Reeve is because the man is already so obedient and broken that finding a replacement would just waste time
-No one has picked up on Krell’s activities because they’re too far away from most others and their ban of communication really keeps the truth from getting out
-The men are at a constant fight of being close with their brothers because they’ll all they have left or avoiding such a close bond because they know each of them could die in the next battle
-A squad of three clones who knew their mission had failed refused to return back to the battalion, despite the order, and instead went out together fighting the enemy
-If/When Krell goes to battle, he’s always alone, refusing to put his trust in clones because he always sees Order 66 happen and doesn’t trust them
-The closest the men get to free time or a break is when Krell goes on a meeting or is called in personally for something
-The only times Krell is lenient and ‘normal’ is when other Jedi are around because he doesn’t want them suspecting anything
-The men are so scared of Krell that their fear of him carries over to other Jedi and they think all of them are alike and like Krell
