Keep in mind: this was the guy that killed Fives, so…..justice?
How so though? This was a man who has literally been made to follow orders and likely was not instilled to do anything else during his time at Coruscant.
We’re not going to mention how Nala Se drugged Fives prior to his meeting to Sheev Palpatine? Nor the fact that this was coordinated with the fact that Palpatine chose to reveal his true self to Fives, knowing that this would cause Fives to “act irrationally”?
Nor the fact that Commander Fox often has to answer directly to Palpatine himself and that he was likely manipulated to do what he did?
There were a lot of factors that caused Fives’ death.
Even if Fox hadn’t been there, I firmly believe Fives still would have died.
It would have been another clone and/or perhaps even Anakin who would have brought down Fives. Like, Anakin cares about Fives, but also compare this situation to how he handled the chase with Ahsoka.
Do you think that Sidious revealing himself was a spur of the moment thing to mess with Fives? Cause’ knowing who he is – knowing that he is a long term planner that had manipulated the Jedi Order into starting the actual war – he would have mechanized the entire thing so he could guarantee Fives would not come out alive while rendering himself blameless.
and keep in mind, too – you know the things that have happened when fox is lenient or lets his guard down? the city’s power generator gets blown up. senators get beaten up by bodyguards or poisoned. cad bane breaks in. fucking GODZILLA invades. barriss kills his men.
and you know fox would’ve been punished for each of these. he’d’ve learned the hard way to just assume the worst and react quickly, or catastrophe strikes, and all he knows is that fives tried to kill the chancellor, has trapped his commanding officers, and has a gun levelled at him.
