#okay but something in me breaks because of WHO watched Obi-Wan break here #Because it’s Rex #Rex who chased after Anakin much like Obi-Wan always did #Rex who admittedly has a shit ton in common with Obi-Wan #Rex who sticks to what he was taught since he was spawned #Rex who still sometimes finds his morals and his beliefs strongly against what he was taught and tries to find a middle ground #Rex who knows he’s ‘just a clone’ but it doesn’t stop him from doing everything he can to help everyone he can #Rex has a lot in common with Obi and he KNOWS it #and he sees Obi-Wan withstand all sorts of torture in this arc #physical and mental of all forms #but you can see in Rex’s face that he realizes this is what truly broke him #what ultimately destroyed Obi-Wan was the Togruta telling him that ‘Jedi only make things worse’#because Obi-Wan is starting to believe it #this war all these dead and injured #he looks to Rex because he knows that all of the hardships the clones face are because of the Jedi #because they were MADE for the Jedi #and Obi-Wan was so Old Guard Obi-Wan is the one that everyone considered the perfect jedi the epitome of jedi #and here Obi-Wan thinks that Jedi is the worst thing he could possibly be because he knows all the faults of the Jedi
