i’m gonna start telling people that i live by the yoda philosophy, which they’ll think is something very wise, but really it’s that you try something one time and if you fail, immediately go into exile and never do anything useful again for the rest of your life

Giving up pride

And communicating.

forgiving what exactly?

Forgiving the fact that they’re people who are working through their past, like you, and will occasionally project their past traumas on you the way you might with them. Forgiving yourself, because growth takes time, and learning to be a pair is more work than just being on your own. Having partners you trust to forgive those moments where you might fall, help you back up and move forward, in my opinion, builds up the trust and love you need for a thriving relationship.

That last comment was beautiful.

Glad they clarified what we should be forgiving

8 right now (2 earlier). Spent most of the past two years 3-4 on my good days and 11 on my bad days (11: completely immobile). Now I’m usually around a 2.

Also for those who haven’t seen it, the actually useful pain scale:

@deadcatwithaflamethrower

I don’t know if you’ve seen these pain/fatigue scales but maybe they’ll be useful to you or your followers? I know I find them helpful.

Charts to print out and carry with you to the doctor/hospital just for a more accurate chart than their fucking useless Pain Scale.

When a character doesn’t realize they’ve been, like, shot or whatever and they hand brushes against their side and comes away wet with blood, and they’re just staring at it like wtf is this and then their knees just totally give out on them and they sink down, maybe gasping a little as the reality finally hits them. That’s good stuff.

I see that, and raise you a character who knows they’ve been shot, but waits until the rest of their crew is out of sight to put their hand against the slowly spreading stain of blood on their shirt, then trying to steady their breathing so they can follow without letting on how injured they are.

Okay but like the character who doesn’t realize they’ve been hurt trying to see if everyone else is okay only to slowly realize that everyone is looking at them with mounting horror. Then they touch their side to find it’s wet and oh no

all 3 of you are evil but i admire, respect, and fear you
