Same. Fortunately,
the old EU rectified that mistake and now the 3 millions clones were only the
first “batch”. Adding to what you already mentioned, It makes no sense to have
only 3 millions clone to fight billions of droids for 3 years. That’s just bad
math. Even I know this will end badly lol
The first two hundred
thousand Grand Army clones were collected from Kamino by the Jedi Grand Master
Yoda, who raced to Geonosis to confront Dooku and the leaders of the newborn
Confederacy of Independent Systems. Another
wave of a million clones was ready soon after that, part of Sifo-Dyas’s initial
order of three million. [Star Wars: The Essential Guide To Warfare by

a number of droid models designed to wage war against the Republic. B1 battle
droids, droidekas, and starfighters known as vulture droids first saw action in
the invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY; a decade later, the Clone Wars would see billions upon billions of droids battle the
Republic’s armies from one side of the galaxy to the other. [Star Wars:

I mean, I’m with the
fans who believe the real number was somewhere between 11 billions and 1
trillion.
So I was thinking about AZI-3 shaving Fives’ head while removing his chip; he didn’t do this with Tup (and Tup had a helluva lot more hair than Fives).
There is no in-between. Seriously, look at this nerd. Flawless execution.
Fumbling dweeb.
He can dodge blasters like a pro
but can’t stay on his feet.
Do a barrel roll!
Even when he does land on his feet, he kind of flops over and needs help standing.
His close-range coordination is abysmal (baby where are you aiming exactly?). But he doesn’t always get decked in the face.
Sometimes he’s tripped and then gets decked in the face (he really needs to stop trying to punch commando droids).
He has better aim with his feet
except when he doesn’t
DO NOT TELL ME HE TRIPPED
CUZ OF THE EXPLOSION he was well on his way to face-planting even before
the detonator went off. Someone protect this panicky dork.
Bonus: “Deadeye” Hardcase taking care of Business™ while Fives flails like a drunken nuna.
What happened to Tup is one of the saddest stories in TCW. So naturally I wanted to dive in to it a bit! The dynamic between Fives and Tup is also really heartbreaking, and it showcases a lot of Fives’ quirks and tendencies for physical expression.
I will cover some of what happened in the inhibitor chip arc, so be forewarned.
At first, Fives is rough with Tup, as he usually is when messing with his brothers
but he keeps an eye on Tup throughout the next battle.
Fives reacts to Tup aiming his blaster
and tries to prevent it from happening
but of course, he’s too late (notice how Fives is the only trooper to DROP EVERYTHING in the middle of the battle to restrain Tup).
Despite Tup executing a Jedi in cold-blood, Fives isn’t frustrated like Rex or flummoxed like Kix – he’s terrified for his brother.
We kind of assume Echo was the follower and Fives was the troublemaker, but look who is getting into fisticuffs with Hevy
Look who talks trash during Commander Colt’s speech
Look who takes charge when they try to leave Domino Squad
Look who silently checks on baby bro Fives to make sure he’s hanging in there
Look who freaks when Fives takes a shot to the shoulder (and Cody has to tell him to keep fighting)
Look who is gung-ho to get flash-frozen and team up with some battle droids
Look who recklessly runs from cover, drawing enemy fire when Ninety-nine is shot
Look who isn’t afraid to show intense emotions such as grief and mourning
Look who rushes for the shuttle and breaks all our hearts and who stays cautiously behind
Then there’s this line from “Rookies” which was deleted from some versions of the episode due to complaints (way to be a bad influence on the kids, Echo)
And one of my favorite moments, Echo telling bad puns to Fives in the middle of their most important test as cadets (he looks so excited about it too)
In fact, when Echo was around, Fives would almost fade into the background, always behind while his brother took point. I have little doubt Echo was the leader, the trailblazer, and he was a huge influence on Fives, who tried his best to follow in his footsteps after he was gone.
You can see his tragic progression from innocent baby batcher, to eager shinie, to serious trooper, tired ARC, and finally disillusioned soldier who understands he’s nothing more than property.
