Remember that time George Lucas casually inserted the dialogue “you’re shorter than I expected” when Anakin Skywalker encounters General Grievous in Episode III, indicating that he had never seen him before? And then they made a tv show set *before* those events and Dave Filoni had to spend 6 seasons doing narrative backflips to keep these two, the main protagonist and a major antagonist, from ever meeting face to face? Because of one throwaway line? Remember that?

This AU is so embarrassing but I can’t stop. For the record, I do always have an opinion on which twin is probably Fives and which is Echo, but I could be wrong so you decide for yourself.
AU where Rex is a single dad with three sons: identical twins Fives & Echo, and baby Tup. Rex’s brother Cody (his twin in fact, because that runs in the family), is often around to lend a hand. (edit: I was wrong, it’s fraternal twins that run in families. Whatever, luck runs in their family. :P)
