ok so this explains why katara and sokka were bundled up in parkas galore while aang was just walking around in his little jump suit like it was a perfect summer evening. I’m so glad this was cleared up. I literally thought Aang’s optimistic attitude is what kept him warm, heavens.
So you remember the firebender prison? And how Zuko kept his bending at full strength when he was put in the freezer box, which disabled anybody else put in there? That’s because Iroh taught him that airbender trick, just like later he taught him waterbending moves to deal with lightning. Iroh was secretly master of all four elements and passed it on to Zuko without him noticing.
That’s what made Iroh so powerful. He stretched beyond his limits, and beyond the limits of what was known and expected. That’s why he’s such a force to be reckoned with.
Audrey is so underrated. How can you not love her?
I have a love-hate relationship with this movie. On one hand it’s got awesome PoC characters who defy racial and gender stereotypes. It also discusses colonialism and how people tend to destroy indigenous cultures to obtain land and resources (which is why the crew ultimately decided a to pretend they never found Atlantis because they don’t want anyone else to try and destroy the culture). But on the other hand, the whole plot is that Atlantis needs a white, cishet man to save it from extinction and for some reason he understand their culture and language better than they do.

I’ve been trying to tell people this for years. Also, what differentiates Milo’s experience from the white savior complex is his expectation and his attitude. When looking for Atlantis, the last thing Milo expects to find are people. He says the most they thought that they would find are carvings and pottery. And he would have been happy with just that.
And even when he finds the Atlanteans, he treats the culture and people with the utmost respect (peek the scene where the crew has their audience with the king). He never tries to interfere in the people’s way of life nor change them. He’s merely an observer fascinated with the culture/people and just wants to know more about them.
In most movies, the white savior comes into the situation with an attitude of superiority and only through his interactions with the native people (and a lot of times a beautiful native woman) is he humbled and then eventually brought in as an honorary member of the people. Milo never asks for thanks or wants to make a name for himself. He does what he does because he loves it and it’s a way to keep his grandfather’s legacy alive.
Yeah. Milo was a damn good dude.
And another thing about Milo that’s made evidenced by this scene in particular? He’s got respect for women. He doesn’t ask why it’s a GIRL mechanic on the expedition, only why it’s a TEENAGER. Doesn’t question Kida’s leadership and knowledge when he meets her. (I can’t think of more examples off the top of my head but I’m sure they’re there).
Milo is a wonderful Disney protagonist, and this movie deserves the underground love it receives.
Rick Riordan is also using his money and fame to lift marginalized authors. He started a whole imprint called Rick Riordan Presents. The books published there have mythology and folklore from all over the world, and they’re written by authors who actually belong to those cultures. The first three books announced have stories based in Korean, Mayan, and Indian cultures, written by Yoon Ha Lee, Jennifer Cervantes, and Roshani Chokshi respectively.
Rick Riordan is pretty fucking cool. Ive never seen a YA put as much care and effort into growing as a writer, specifically with a focus on increasing diversity, as him.
The fact that he’s a UT alum from San Antonio who taught middle school English just warms my heart.

It depends on the situation tbh, for example, during battles, she usually can keep herself calm and plan a good strategy. But sometimes she will get stressed, usually for thinking too much about the whole war situation bc she feels like she should be doing more to stop this war, or also overthinking about things she did or didn’t do.
67.- What is something that is simple, but always makes them smile?
She loves watching nature, whether it’s watching clouds, or a sunset, or just admiring a beautiful plant or animal. And another thing that never fails to make her smile, is to see the clones relaxing and being happy.

GALACTIC COORDINATES:
Coruscant is at 0, 0, 0. The system is not at the galactic center and is
above the galactic ecliptic. The coordinates are measured in units of
15 parsecs (roughly 49 light years). A standard navicomputer tracks
these coordinated to hundreds of decimal places when calculating or
verifying a hyperspace course.
HYPERSPACE ROUTES:
• In
the Old Republic era, hyperspace beacons contain current information
regarding hazards and obstacles along a route. A navicomputer is used to
interpret the information and plot a course.
• In
the Rise of the Empire era and later, the holonet is used to update
navicomputers which maintain a database of known routes. Downloading
updates to the database is a standard docking procedure at many ports. [x]:
A typical journey between two
regions of the galaxy (or between two systems within the same region) takes a
certain number of hours. This base travel time can be modified by as many as
three factors, each of which is discussed below:
Hyperdrive Quality:
The base travel time given on the table assumes the use of a standard hyperdrive
