what does Obi-Wan mean when he says about Vader «he’s more machine now than man»? and follows it with «his mind is twisted and evil», suggesting that there’s a correlation between the two? Anakin didn’t go to the dark side/stay there because he went through an unwilling roboticisation? the fact that he’s mostly a «machine» has no influence on his ethics? …right? or does he mean it metaphorically, that Vader is now part of the Emperor’s «machine»?

answer: Star Wars has a lot of ableist shit. George himself has described
Anakin as a less than human for losing his limbs. It’s a recurring theme where
losing a limb = losing humanity. Grievous his another example of this. He is constantly
described an inhuman in-universe and in reality, not because he’s evil but
because his extensive prosthetics. Same with Maul and most “evil” characters.

They believed that losing limbs diminishes your ability to connect to the Force so when Anakin lost his 4 limbs
and “returned” as Darth Vader, Obi-wan saw Anakin as less human than he used to be. Add that to the idea that Sith have no humanity and are inherently insane and evil, you have an Obi-wan who is unable to recognize Anakin’s humanity beneath that suit.
